ACCOUNTANT
Down Syndrome Ireland (DSI) is a registered charity with a National
Office based in Ballymount, Dublin **Apply on the website** and a

vacancy for a full-time accountant working from the National Office in
Ballymount, Dublin **Apply on the website**.
This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional looking to
work in a lively progressive environment and for that professional to
widen experience. You will become part of a small, busy, collaborative
team and have the chance to work across all aspects of the finance
function, making for a varied and engaging role where no two days are
the same.
You will take ownership of the role and report directly to the CFO.
IN SUMMARY THE ACCOUNTANT ROLE WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING;
* Act as a financial point of contact and support for the
organisation
* Address and respond to all queries in a timely and professional
manner
* Support and develop financial reporting processes along with
preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
* Assist with the completion of the annual budgets and forecasts
* Support the roll-out of Xero accounting to Branches
* Support the roll-out of financial policies to Branches
* Liaise with auditors and donors as required
* Being flexible, adaptable and available to take on other tasks or
duties as requested
* Undertake some travel to member Branches and have a full, clean
driver?s license and access to own vehicle.
* Any other duties as assigned by the CFO.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE;
* A recognised accountancy qualification
* Minimum 3 years relevant experience
* Strong track record of consistently delivering on time
* Ability to prioritise and manage tasks whilst consistently
maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
* Proficiency in using Xero accounting
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO DEMONSTRATE;
* High degree of analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills;
* Strong communication, relationship management and interpersonal
skills (face to face and virtually).
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
and ability to work on own initiative
* Strong systems development and implementation experience
* Strong experience providing training to non-financial managers on
financial policies and procedures
* Demonstrate ability to work independently and in a team
* Excellent knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel
(Intermediate to Advanced)
* Experience in the NGO/charity sector or membership type
organisation
This is a full-time role, 5 days per week, working from 9am to 5pm.
The role is based in the National Office, Ballymount, Dublin**Apply on
